How to Add Custom CSS and Javascript Using a Child Theme

Sometimes you may want to override/add your own stylesheets and javascript separately. Using the child theme functions below allow you to do just this.

To add a stylesheet named mystyles.css to the theme, that is loaded after the main theme stylesheet, use this method:

To add a jQuery plugin or external javascript file named myscript.js after jQuery, use this method:

You’ll obviously need to create the files and folders within your child theme directory. This is a very basic implementation. You could certainly advance the functionality using any of the available WordPress conditionals.
